WhistlerTag 12: from the runway in the Hot Tub

Yesterday we got up again a little later and then have the day for a few snow photos used. It was sunny but the sky was not really blue, the images of dusty turns the light but you could use very well. Afternoon we have been it for 2 hours in the hot tub / pool. All in all a very unspektatkulärer day, but one I must also relax a bit before next week starts back to work.
tonight were 2cm or snow in the valley it was raining, but we have decided spontaneously that we have not previously attracted to the runway;) Tonight we already have to start packing, because tomorrow's is already at 8:15 clock go towards Vancouver. From there we fly to Calgary and then back to Frankfurt and finally we take the ICE to be against Sunday afternoon in Erlangen. On one picture you can see include the pool area of our hotel, as I have taken it from de m lift.

Whistler Day 11: 1st Day after the Whistler Heli-boarding

Today's was comfortably in the day. Bissle sleeping in, staying for breakfast, then on the runway earlier this back home:) After Heliboarding we were obviously quite flat and get on the slopes makes leveled mainly on 1 Day After not very much fun, besides it is too warm above 0 degrees Celsius, even at the middle station had just under 5 ° C around noon, so that the snow will compact and below is even slushy. When we got back in the hotel were, we drove into the outdoor pool and hot whirlpool (hot tub) applied directly to the slopes are (maybe 10m away and through a clear line of trees which separate), and the 4-seater, the people look it. Since we were ahead of the crowd turn, was spacious and quiet, but from 4 clock it was filled and clearly we were the only idiots who had followed the rules on the sign and had brought no beer or other beverage. More
today was not going, here are 2 more pictures of jumps on the two height-adjustable benches:

Day 10: Heli-Boarding!

Today was the hammer-day! HELI-BOARDING!
In the small helicopter for 5 passengers, we had the whole day, was Holger Doorman and always had to get off first, and enter the last, I was the Tailbackman had, therefore, a backpack with 2 Avalanche transceiver, shovel, radio ...
But first things first: It started at 8:15 at the Heli-office. After a short time we got from our guide Steve and the avalanche beeper during the trip to Whistler Heliport a small theoretical instruction. After that then a practical test, for they could locate the two German super Boarder mastered the hidden backpack and the same. The three Latvians, who were also on board with established, not so good. Therefore, our most important tasks are delegated.
went with the car's then a bit further away and further Heliport danchdem the other group, which had also used the helicopter picked up, off we went!
let out into the mountains and on the summit of nowhere. Super runs with the best powder without spurt, only the other 2 groups had before us at a great distance somewhere Prepared something you noticed, but not earlier than in the valley since the Abholpunt was usually the same, but never exit.
Long runs, steep, almost no crossings, dusty powder, top jumps, Treeruns ... just perfect!
Since we were in the smaller Pebble was not a camera crew here but we ourselves have a lot of great photos shot and videos done and Steve did with his private cam great photos that we had of its memory chip in the photo shop, burn to CD, while we sat together briefly for a pint at the pub. Meanwhile, also ran all the LCD TVs the videos of the day the people from the large helicopters, and then our photo CD. Details are
like it on demand, but much was simply awesome!
In gratitude that I had carried the day over the backpack, I fragrances of on the flight home in Copilositz fly, leading to more equal still beautiful photos and a video.
Even if it was not free, has more than paid off the day! Just so we're coming to Canada:)
Here are a few impressions of today, who also Heliboarding ratios one was "10 out of 10" day: sunny, fresh powder, no tracks, no wind, blue sky, virtually no clouds!

Whistler Day 9: You see the powder to all the snow slopes not

's when you get up this morning snowed. For a change, which was also somewhat announced. Right on time at 7:30 we were at breakfast, therefore, to be around 8:30 on the clock and can track as much as possible from snow to have. According to Whistler TV there were only 3-5cm (the ad was updated while we were on). Today's
went to Whistler Mountain. The snow was a dream. Very fine powder of very light variety and minutes according to our estimates. 10cm and it snowed all day then even more. As it was quite cold and windy up, were now unpacked again the ski masks. As a result, the weather was no problem. Only the visibility was not ideal, especially in the upper section, which is why we had today probably the busiest day fall. However, it was mostly out why, because you could not be ellen, whether one is even still moving, the slope crossed or went down. It was easy to see no points of reference. Even bumps of about 2 meters height, we saw one time or another, although max. were 1 m in front of us. Through the soft snow it was always easy, as might have been created in cushions or springs, and not the slightest bruise:) laugh but there was so much more and even phrases like "now you are driving from anywhere and crashing down" are often used .
afternoon we confirmed the Heli-boarding reservation and tomorrow morning at 8:15 clock we have to be there already. A clear sunny day is announced determined with 20cm powder in freezing temperatures, causing the snow to be perfectly preserved and waiting for both of us will.
whole 5 photos we have made today, here are 2 of them - tomorrow it might be some more;) Once the cool, depending on the amount of snow adjustable bench and a small snow impression.

Prolapsed Uterus On Dogs

day 8 in Whistler

Last night we had a little place in the way and we explored it a city. We had expected a lot but not yet prepared to Whistler. Shops and restaurants without end. Amazing how many there are luxury shed: Restaurants with 900 different wines, oysters, lobster, Deluxe Sushi, Japanese Grill, ... every pub looks out as an absolute in-terre. It is also very busy in town, with the expected place in the morning, because then again the weekend is over.
This morning we have breakfast thoroughly tested and there is even a waffle iron. Coffee you drink typically from the paper cup and the juice can be brought only in plastic cups (the plates are real but ;-)).
Although there has been 2 days ago about 20 cm powder snow, you notice on the slopes, not much of it. The people were very diligent in terms of the incoherence, but it is still soft in most places. Otherwise you will find here very many moguls, skiers and above are very happy here. The area is extremely vast and often quite steep and challenging. The day has just passed today and to explore Blackcomb Mountain, Whistler Mountain is about tomorrow.
Our first double-black diamond run (double-Black), we also drove today (note the wooden gate input on the photo and the sign in the background, indicating that if present bears). Are different to the Alps here on the runway lines: are red runs, it does not, green meets blue, blue is is red and black and white, but there are sometimes even double-black, and in some cases even triple-Black-Diamond, which means that a lead to driving errors "serious injury or death" is and you have to usually jump over any rocks in order to depart to get (such runs are described in my Expert Guide Book, but no reasonable person will take that). Unfortunately, Holger digicam today sent to the Cam-sky, or at least the display, but there was just a simple flat way to blame;)
The best is but now: we have done: we signed up for Heli-Boarding .
If everything fits, it's so far on Tuesday, tomorrow or tonight, is yet to come fresh snow - finally it must be worth it!
Here are some pictures from today:

Kanda Day 7: Off to Whistler-Blackcomb Big White

Half Canada vacation is over, so it went today to Whistler-Blackcomb. The airport shuttle was on time ready to exit 10, but the driver was very strange. Even when parking outside the hotel he was mowing in forward gear in order (!) A bunch of pylons, and 100 after the estimated Attempt, he had parked ready. As we left then, he turned suddenly after 5-10 minutes and went back again - because he had forgotten to pick up another 4 other people. The people were but not where he wanted to pick them up - and now the rear of the vehicle was very nervous, because not much time was up to their departure. So we turned again, this time in an almost even Train and went back the same way as before, where we collected the missing people just 100m behind the previous turning point. After that we went with the comment of the driver "I guess that means no tip, eh?" quite easy to Kelowna airport. One should perhaps mention that the driver apparently did not know that the bus had a manual transmission, which only works in conjunction with the clutch. It crashed while driving as often and loudly in the transmission that it is certainly no one would have wondered if the bus was left lying at some point simply defective.
The 40min flight to Vancouver was spectacular and once again we could take the entire luggage in reception, it went on the shuttle bus to Whistler Blackcomb, about 2.5 hours north of Vancouver.
The area around Vancouver is fantastically beautiful, most of the trip went directly to the coast. This must eventually be spent a holiday! Mountains with snow by the sea, islands, lots of woods, luxury homes in prime location, what more could you want:)
Whistler is just huge, so many hotels of extraordinary size. Put money without end into this place and you realize that the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver and Whistler. It is all built, bigger, more! The coastal highway will be expanded to twice its width and that the direction of the sea, meaning that Quantities and piled anbetoniert or even placed as bridges. It is also amazing that is obviously built on the complete road everywhere at once. Loosely over 1 h, we went only by the construction site.
Now we are in the hotel, in the Upper Village of Whistler and it's really impressive how we live here in our room. To the fireplace so we could get used to Big White, which in this case is now made of stone. We have a huge refrigerator including freezer, dishwasher, stove, a living room corner ... and can exit from the runway directly in our balcony. Even two phones, our suite. Tomorrow we will be the place or better time to explore the city and snowboarding, as we should not forget why we are here;). Images are
morning again, maybe today, but we have not photographed as the old one room in Big White, and now the new suite in Big White.
But a few pictures from the old room at Big White.
