Six Year Old With Sore Legs

Conques - a metropolis of the Middle Ages

This morning was not a cloud in the sky and the two had breakfast extensively. Heading there was surprisingly a second breakfast on the way: coffee, tea and Biscuits were standing on a table free operation. A few chairs next to it and all there was for a small voluntary donation.
As in the past few days, the path led into the next valley and then back to the height. In the valleys become flowing rivers, which for Frodo are always a welcome refreshment at these temperatures. The elder
shines just as in the sun like the roofs of the houses that are in the area with thick slate covered.
old doors and thick walls set the tone in the villages.
The trail unfortunately again a little while on pavement until it steeply into the valley of Conques goes down. In bad weather is certainly a very difficult path through the forest. Thus, this hot and dry weather also advantages.
Conques was earlier an important stage of the pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostella. The monastery church and especially the tympanum are among the most beautiful works of art of the Middle Ages. It is a masterpiece of Romanesque sculpture and represents the Last Judgement, Christ sits in its center.
The place is now on 15 August, very well attended, although the number of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago strongly declined is.
Some were Klaus and Frodo all alone on the road.

Bottom Line: A quiet, romantic evening in Conques.
