holiday apartment, Budapest, Hungary |
Budapest is divided into districts. The most important of which districts 2,5,6 and 7 In these areas, see Fabulous architecture, typical Hungarian buildings, clubs, restaurants, bars and plenty of nightlife. Public transport is second to none, and you are always a few minutes from all major attractions.
District II is on the Buda side and the Castle District, where you will find medieval buildings and excellent restaurants. Traffic is restricted in the area, so if you for a relaxing Time looking in the most beautiful part of Buda, looking over the Danube and Pest on the opposite bank, district II, is where you should stay.
District V is on the Pest side and forms a triangle from River Edge, up and down the Parliament to the Magnificent market at the end of Vaci utca. District V is full of magnificent buildings and this is where you find most of the 5 star hotels.
District VI and VII, are a short walk from the river or the District V, and is of the beautiful, tree-lined Andrassy Boulavard that runs through the center of town, divided up to Heroes' Square.
If you plan to stay in Budapest, would I suggest that you either stay in or close to these areas. If you have a home to meet your requirements, but they are not found in districts 2,5,6 and 7, make sure you are available only outside these areas on foot.
There are many new buildings, located just outside the center. They look very attractive, very modern and cheap, but you could find yourself in a concrete jungle, away from the Hubble-Bubble and the city itself.
Central Budapest is not a concrete jungle, but an architectural delight. Go cheap, and you take the risk to find themselves outside Budapest, the money you will save on taxi fares are issued, and your valuable time spent traveling back and forth.
There are many companies that offer nice apartments in a typical Hungarian buildings and they are not expensive. Be not deceived, and reservation questions to the district before.
District 13, has a magnificent view over the Danube, but it is up the river, away from Margaret Iceland, District 9 is full of large, modern blocks of flats and this could be built around you. District 8 is still very run down. I'm not saying that all areas outside the district 2,5,6 and 7 are not good, I'm just wary of getting.
