What are the worst films of the last decade? (Part I)

tends Great strides in this decade to a close. Now is the time ripe for a review of the special kind: What were the worst, most terrible and most annoying films of the past ten years? Several weeks ago I tortured myself with pondering and a DIN-A 4-page scribbled with potential candidates. Then, the inner casting together nominate, vote and recall. But now they are fixed! In the coming days I will show you by and by the winners. Today we start off with the points 10 to 8 I have omitted

horror movies. Who before the tin man from the Wizard of Oz afraid, is not a good reference for horror movies. Second, the films of Uwe Boll. There are two reasons. First, the list was already full, and on the other hand, I admire the man, somehow, on ne strange way ...

What remains are still enough.

10th Please! What is a title: Quantum of Solance / Quantum of Solace (2008)? I did not get it: What has James Bond to do with "comfort"? Thank you, dear producer team that is James Bond now finally arrived in the girls' ...
bad it went on. Serve with two words: Mathieu Almaric. If your asking yourself now, huh, who was that? He was the "evil" counterparts. Somewhat paler and looser lust like this Bondantipode Dominic Greene I've come not for a long time. Why are not people like Goldfinger, Le Chiffre Skaramanga or more? Can we not nowadays several minutes stroking a cat? James Bond is so in the 21 Century arrived. Aha. Then there are the rare moments when I wish my back Vergangeheit, even when (as in Moonraker) was only one answer to Star Wars.
this Bond has lost his sense of humor also. Was that the infinitely long and boring camera pans over the audience at the Bregenz Festival? Or was not meant funny? Sorry, this Bond was for me only a primitive Berserker without any added value, there was even Milchbubi Matt Damon as Bourne is the better action hero. It was fortunate that he was with 106 minutes, the shortest Bond film of all time.

9th The last decade film has distinguished himself mainly with one: his sequel / prequel / spin-off mania . Perhaps the audience yearn for familiar, for stories whose main characters they already know and do not have to worry that one of them dies. Who knows. Which has proved one thing: In many cases, they were so damn unnecessary as Dominic Greene (see item 10). Example? The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions . Undoubtedly laid the first part of the bar for special effects and martial arts higher. Nevertheless, my pseudo-philosophical babble was quite on my nerves. As questions are raised, which makes the human race for thousands of years, and as a completely new markets. In the two sequels was thrown together just everything well shaken and presented again. And again marketed.

were equally unnecessary sequels to the Blade . The first part is dominated by its sleek aesthetic and yet violence. In the second and the third part, it just was too much or too little innovation. The exponentiation of good qualities does not make better movies, much more they end up in boredom. And Ryan Reynolds does not as a vampire hunter or as Dead Pool ...

Also on pirate I could do without. Seriously. I do not even want to think about how much valuable time Orlando Bloom has stolen me. He and his Companions, "I do Men's dreams come true "-Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski. I still have not understood how to work something without substance ( Pirates of the Caribbean in all stripes) first three films of time can, and secondly to further sequels like the planned fourth part of lead could ...

8th When you've bored the last time you really so much so that only a visit to the dentist was able to solve the lock-jaw from yawning exactly?? at Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002): Ballistic actually based on a computer game - and has so far never been around anything good

No wonder Ballistic. the only movie that has received at Rotten Tomatoes a smooth zero-percent rating . 107 reviews, and all have nothing good to the agent film. Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas, one can only recall one thing: Have you no honor? No pride? I hope the two have learned something from this: First: Read the scripts and your contracts. Second: Throw out your agent.
And what has he learned inclined audience? That it is unbearable to watch actors, whose characters develop at all between continuous explosions. And that it is actually trash films that do not make fun ...

What stars are worth?

Who was the most successful actor in 2009? Shia LaBeouf . For every dollar he earned in salary and other assessments, conceded production companies such as DreamWorks 160 U.S. dollars - and yet Transformer: Revenge.

That a good actor not equal a good movie makes - a gift. That they even reduce the profit of the production company, which went to Forbes.com . Ten actors has identified the business magazine, which prevented the profit maximization of the studios. For some it was the disinterest of the audience, the other is poorly negotiated contracts.

The list 100 top stars were selected, whose last three films were shown at least since 2004 in 500 cinemas. To Gage and the shares of box-office, DVD releases and television broadcasts have brought the film budget (not including marketing costs) and the box-office figures, DVD and television reports in relation.

It goes far down

landed on 10th place Jim Carrey, which is really only because of a mishap, "The Number 23" was playing around the world by 77 million U.S. dollars. The next one is on the list Samuel L. Jackson . In supporting roles, he shines only in its leading roles selection proved the busy actor (in the last two years he appeared in seven films) is not a good hand.
Even as a character actor you are not gefeiht before Flopps: 8th place goes to Leonardo di Caprio . Although the success of his recent films like "Revolutionary Road" or "Body of Lies" were moderate - but not his salary checks. For every dollar that he has taken, The production company got only 7.52 U.S. dollars. 7th place goes to the only woman on the list: Drew Barrymore . A very deep hole rips "Lucky You", has taken only 8 million U.S. dollars worldwide. Good for Tom Cruise were his fees in recent years. The films are still flopped at the box office: $ 7.18 with only benefited the producers of the Star.

Slowly we are moving in the basement to the Flopps. At No. 5 is a bustle Ice Cube . He earned compared to the high rollers little, his films flopped anyway. $ 4.77 earned the production companies to him. The last movies with Eddie Murphy were not great Hits at the box office. Despite Dr. Doolittle and the Mad Professor's last films were poorly attended. Probably time for a comeback of the old comedian-master. Perhaps it is indeed something to see Beverly Hills Cop IV

Much was Billy Bob Thornton not in recent years in Germany. No wonder, after the films flopped in America already managed it his concoctions in our part as good as not even to the canvas. 2nd place is a surprise: The Trainspotting and Star Wars hero Ewan McGregor was a bad investment for the production companies. Just 3.75 dollars they benefited, and at 15-million-dollar paychecks.

inglorious winners of this list is Will Ferrell , despite successes such as "Buddy - The Christmas Elf" (220 million dollars worldwide revenue) or "Ricky Bobby - König: The Ballad" (162 million U.S. dollars Box Office). Nevertheless, only unprofitable 3.29 U.S. dollars were used for the production companies around here.

Cheap is always

And why were the films with Shia LaBeouf so successful? First, its low fees as a newcomer. Second, he played with in real big blockbusters: for example, Eagle Eye - Eagle Eye, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Transformers. Third, he works hard, keeps a cool head and is fond of promotional work.
are also on other places to find newcomers: James McAvoy ($ 114 return for the production company) and Michael Cera (102 U.S. dollars). Then place could be another young actor: Daniel Radcliffe (93 U.S. dollars) - and for the Harry Potter films. Since he was booked for years to come, it was almost impossible for him to participate in other films, and the production company did not pay especially well. Alone for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix's, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Warner Bros. took a about 5.3 billion U.S. dollars - and two more Potter is still in the works.

will be the number 5 is the first comeback Robert Downey Jr. ($ 78). With "Tropic Thunder" and "Iron Man" he has restored to the hearts of the audience. After his long drug addiction, he was also a stroke of luck for the cheaper production companies. He is likely to get for "Iron Man 2" more money.

Javier Bardem (73 dollars) is pronounced affinity in terms Arthausproduktionen - and they are cheap. Sun Woody Allen is known for his stinginess (Vicky Cristina Barcelona). Ryan Reynolds also time was cheaper, before he landed on the radar of the audience. To date a real success Bringer for his production company ($ 61).

first number 8 is a "heavyweight": Christian Bale (55 U.S. dollars). He deserves as Batman, John Conner more like other superheroes, but that has done well even Michael Keaton. Another star of "The Dark Knight" has also made it onto the list. Aaron Eckhart (45 U.S. dollars), including "Thank You for Smoking". The fact that he is profitable for the producers, is also that he likes to play along in arthouse films and give up big salary.

The surprise was ranked 10: Dennis Quaid ($ 43) with films such as The Express, Smart People, and eight of view, The unexpected $ 150 million dollars grossed worldwide.

What is the "Winslet algorithm?

The key words "beautiful women" and "mathematics" think most of us probably 90 - 60 - 90th That there are more options for women to pack in formulas, now has a commission in the name of UK Film Council proved. They have estimated the treasure "Kate Winslet" to around 60 million pounds (almost 67 million euros). Chosen the 34-year-old actress, because they mark the "Britannia" on the Kontintent and overseas successfully represents. Next candidate for the algorithm could Christian Bale and Daniel Craig be.

The formula has now been lovingly dubbed "Winslet algorithm" combines five variables:

  • income (Winslet has earned since 1995 about 22 million €),
  • the interest of the producers, with Winslet in their home country to turn and there to promote the film industry,
  • of success, which is by the box-office earnings directly attributable to the actress,
  • the attraction of tourists who want to see the original scenes of the film locations,
  • and finally, the advertising effect England itself

David Steele, head of research group summarizes the result of together again: "Once an actor is celebrating international success and on television, in advertising and Fan News is do people learn more about their home country." This number will be attracted to boost the British film industry in the future as new prospective businessmen and diplomats. Winslet

from the Friends of Kate was to hear that they are of the formula " flattered and amused " feel.

What MGM matter?

The rumors about MGM seem to come true: the 1924-based production and distribution company is facing bankruptcy.

The company with the lion logo now checks whether they will continue to work alone or may require a partnership approach, or a sale . Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is with nearly four billion U.S. Doller in debt. In total there are approximately six billion U.S. Doller.

are particularly valuable film library with some 4,000 titles (including the Rocky and Pink Panther movies) and the rights to the James Bond and the two "Hobbit" movies. This is the logo and its subsidiary United Artists.

interested in a sale have already been reported: Time Warner, News Corp.. (The owners of the 20th Century Fox) and Lions Gate.

particular lot was not shown this year by MGM. Only "Fame" made it to American screens, turned out to be flop . Next year looks no better: "Hot Tub Time Machine" is scheduled for March, "The Zookeeper" and "Red Dawn" will follow in late 2010.

This is not the first time that MGM changing hands. 2004 saw the last time being acquired by Providence Equity Partners, Texas Pacific Group, Sony Corp. and Comcast. At that time it was around 5 billion dollars.

is what 2010 film?

For those who can not wait.

front: This is about the big theaters, that is the High Roller at the movies. Even though I arthouse films love, there is next year but the one or other multi-million production, which I really want to see on the big screen and in 3D. I am especially excited

on Clash of the Titans and two special men: Iron Man 2 and Inside Man 2 And the Tron sequel is high on my list. This may be because that Daft Punk is responsible for the soundtrack. To this end, I'm lookin still Inception. Director Christopher Nolan takes the story of a successful business man (Leonardo DiCaprio) from his old friends Batman movies before the camera: Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and Ken Watanabe. Strong women are

in 2010 a lot on the screen: So is Rose McGowan be seen as Red Sonja (Conan's female counterpart), the ladies of Sex and the City and Milla Jovovich as Alice in the fourth sequel to Resident Evil. The computer game heroine has apparently inspired Jerry Bruckheimer: he can go as Jake Gyllenhaal Prince of Persia "at the cinema audience.

Creepy it is determined in the new movie with Benicio Del Toro for The Wolfman. In the horror movie remake about a werewolf also the wonderful Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins is to be seen.

In the coming year are to many comic book movies: "The Losers" and Jonah Hex want to expand their customer base and emerge from the DC Multiverse. In addition, the Green Hornet is the honor. Under the direction of Michel Gondry (precisely: the director of "Forget me not"), Christoph Waltz as opponents go to a martial arts-affinity newspaper publisher. The fact that Denzel Washington has

a soft spot for trains, he proved already Pelham 123 Now he can in "Unstoppable" watch again on a train. Also, Nicolas Cage fans in 2010 at their expense. In three films, the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola is to see: The Sorcerer (yes, it's about the Goethe ballad), Kick-Ass and Season of the Witch.

heard nothing more from the Long Wall Street, Highlander, or Robin Hood? Do not worry: The coming year provides for the sequels. The Predators (the one with the sweet sound ^ ^) go back on the hunt!

More of the story front: Dreamworks and Disney are digging deep into the story-book-drawer: next year will be 4 and Shrek Rapunzel to be seen on the screen. Even Alice in Wonderland (directed by Tim Burton), the toys from Toy Story and Harry Porter make themselves back on track. And Gullivers Travel is also not the end.

Pure action cinema I expect from The Expendables. As if the 1980s never would have passed, collect a lot of former rivals such as Sylvester Stallone Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger about him, the team is completed by Jet Li and Jason Statham. As each story is irrelevant.

also another team goes 2010 again on tour, the A-Team (though I Liam Neeson so ever can not imagine than Hannibal ...)

Arthaus For a little space but is "The Rum Diary." Johnny Depp as his alter ego of his favorite hero, see Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson.

Dunkin Donuts Swot Analisis

What is" Prince of Persia "?

Now it has caught so well as Jerry Bruckheimer. The producer, for atrocities such as "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Con Air" or "Bad Boys" is known, the English director Mike Newell makes a big-screen adaptation of the PC game "Prince of Persia" going on. Sir Ben Kingsley is to play (again) not too fine, the bad guy. The pixel-Prince is represented by La Jake Gyllenhaal, one of the young stars of Hollywood.

Large footprints has chosen Bruckheimer. Uwe Boll, affectionately known as German answer to Ed Wood , it has been doing this years ago as director, producer and scriptwriter: you buy cheap licenses from computer games, tinker a story from buy, just before close unemployed asterisk (Jason Stratham, Tara Reid and Ben Kinsley take forever) and bring it called a film in the cinemas.

that the concept "computer games for wide audiences" financially rises was already seen in Tomb Raider (2001): The stupid story, peppered with the Popcorn Adult Mrs Jolie, loveless special effects and plain supporting cast, let it ring the box office. In the U.S. alone played the saga of the estimated hunter Lara Croft on the opening weekend of half the production costs back. After five months there were more than 274 million U.S. dollars . Add to that second window as DVD and video, and merchandising.

For the coming years, other film adaptations of computer games are planned: Halo, World of Warcraft or Tekken are already in work.

good starting point for Jerry Bruckheimer. Because the name "Bruckheimer" stands for testosterone-charged action cinema. Each approach is a storyline that is beside the point.
And if it goes wrong: Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is probably already in the pipeline ...

What is a concert highlight?

A successful concert can be many things: jubilant crowd, sweaty musicians, untwisted conductor. Then, when Darth Vader himself, the highest honor is on the desk and climb, the more than successful: It is a highlight.
Fortunately for the musicians that they kept quiet and were not nervous: Darth Vader is not forgiving!

What is an ICE like?

chamber piece for three people: an ICE, a traveling salesman, I do.

Some Weeks ago, I caught the nasty flu Berlin. If I had the same with the adequate resources brought down, I would first not so much knowledge from my course DAA escaped. And second, a "great" experience.

decided in a feverish attack, I go home in the arms of my loving family to drive me and allow me to maintain good health. I did not know that in few weeks when my body (even though I am not a cat lady). To break with another tradition, I am not gegondelt the Berlin Ostbahnhof, the main train station but was caught in an ICE.

said than done. There I was in the full ICE direction of Baden-Wuerttemberg and discovered with horror: The part was full ... And more and more travelers are jostling in my back, to still get a fairly good seat. Well, "good" probably too much to say: In order to even get a seat.

Since the revelation: An elderly man, sitting on the floor, next to a bag that I experienced as a train driver also recognize the same as his. Is there a God who has compassion with me?? I'm going to storm smile, friendly (those who know me, know that) and ask him if his side still would be free. "Yes," the answer. Okee, he probably did not understand what is at stake. I formulate my question and want to know if I may as well sit down. "No". WHAT? Shocked, I allow myself to carry on from the crowd and find two rows behind a nice guy to me leaving the place at his side for the trip. In a routine look in the mirror I'm the way, check if you have looked at my cold on the nose. The same result: "No".

Honestly, would one of you would have to be married? In a polite question to answer "no"?

Meissen Porcelain Figurines

Return home

On Monday Klaus and Frodo have decided to end the way and go back home. In Decazeville the temperatures were increased again in the evening it cooled down a little, so that the regeneration was the night for the pair as not otherwise possible. The next steps would be because of the limited number of accommodation out very long and the weather forecast announced a further rise in temperatures.

They traveled by train from Figeac over Brive to Paris. Sabine and Matt brought the pair from there by car. Gare d'Austerlitz on there was a joyful reunion, especially Frodo could not calm at all.

The four arrived safely at home, just in time to Eri to congratulate her on her birthday, which was also celebrated in the evening accordingly.

Many thanks to all the loved ones who were there and especially to those who have the evening planned and designed.

The Best A/v Receiver

readers to authors - magnifique - For Klaus and Frodo

Hello Hello Klaus and Frodo

Now we have found the site of you and are really impressed.

We wish you a nice large pilgrimage lots of nice encounters and most of all yourself and faith. But the St. James is also there.

We wish you health and strength and, above all, comfortable hiking weather

spouses Merten and Arthur (who would join us in any case !!!!!!)

Hi Sabine, a week ago I was photographed waving a friendly fellow pilgrims of Klaus and published for that date in the blog. As the text says, I've driven on the same day to Lyon from there with the fully air-conditioned € lines bus to Hannover back down, not without giving me a five-day flu capture, which is now in remission (luck?). Well begun for me was the Frodo-story with the narrative of a pilgrim on the German Ferme de Borgiraut out that reported by the Cologne pilgrims packed with his dog. I found it quite impossible, for other reports of my previous trips I knew that dogs do not like long marches. Nevertheless, the moment was awakened at my request, the two meet, but the probability seems low, since I "jumped" the next day by train to have a piece of track south Dijon to meet my brother to a little "docking" on mobile phones, for he was traveling by car. After I asked him to look on the Internet on the blog and me Frodo by SMS to confirm that it is actually Frodo and Klaus, I am moved southward. So you can imagine the so joyful surprise over that grabbed me when I saw Tramayes turned the corner and lie there before the Syndicat d'Initiative a black dog with panniers! That for Klaus experience it was somewhat disconcerting must, as any caress a stranger's dog knew his name and then also with himself "Hi Klaus!" welcomed, of course I understand completely. Sure, he has my same "enlightened" have on my joy. After that we have again seen twice, a little less surprising as the first time, but still with great joy. That's about your image documentation can be expanded, I am sending you a photo I made in Charlieu in the marketplace, shortly after I discovered Frodo and Klaus, apparently in search of dog food ... For now the time to genügen.Da evident in the blog, a second Kurt seems to be among the regular readers, I was outed as a biologist (teacher), my posts from now on always appear "Bioghurt.
All the best and always healthy 6 feet wish you down there, close to Le Puy, EuerBioghurt

Here are two diary excerpts of pilgrims Andreas, intended to show how other pilgrims feel the way and of course, Klaus from the perspective of another person - extremely exciting! Thanks to Andreas for this insight into his private life pilgrim!
Saturday, 4 July 2009
"In the morning at breakfast are joined by the man who goes by the name Klaus, and Frodo his dog to us. Both are on the road since Cologne and want to come as far as possible. We have to tell us much, we'll break up in sequence. Ernst
really want to take a railway museum and thus shorten the present route by 13 km. Today's stage is 31 km, after we posted yesterday + 29 km detour.
To get to the Museum station, we left the Cannertal and go uphill a bit. No train far and wide, the next to go until 14:30 clock - much too late.
So we first go on a dirt road and then a whole lot in the track - very anstrengend.Nach the next place we can get back on the road and there we expect Frodo and Klaus. Together we go a short distance, then we part again. Klaus is fit as a fiddle, because we do not mit.Zunächst we walk though on country roads - is through beautiful landscapes, but after Vigy it dull. Roads, power lines, scorching sun, no shade and the first foot problems at Ernst and me. More Ernst
jokingly holds out while walking the thumb. A white
he whizzes past us, Renault, increases in the iron stops, 200 meters, turn, come back and stops at our feet. That's still pretty nicht.Eine very cute young woman takes us to Metz - will probably have been an angel sein.Sie brings us directly in front of the cathedral. Our gratitude to receive them with the words, if it helps pilgrims, they would have come in heaven under a gut.Wir in the hostel and are very happy to explore the city and take our time. At 19:00 clock spin Frodo and Klaus in Metz, incidentally, we take them to the cathedral. Klaus makes a very finished appearance.
Later we meet us on a wine -. Abend.Leider until late in the morning our separate ways, as we have planned various stages "

Sunday, 5 July 2009
" I have not slept so well because it no proper bedding only such a hygienic disposable stuff was. Oh well.
We have breakfast outside in the yard.
Then skip the events. With my innocent question - will you give me the time travel guide - the drama begins. Seriously changes several times the color. I have naturally nothing strapped - as it breaks out of it. I have not - you have it - I just wanted to say yesterday, remember that I take him. I've probably forgotten him in the hotel from Klaus.
What a bummer. We dachshunds go immediately to the hotel from the cathedral. Klaus is already gone. In the hotel are all very friendly, unfortunately no one has seen our guide
s or even for us down to the page. How could they, as it is cleaned up in the night someone and have it all disposed of.
No chance. Instead
times at rest a little think and to seek alternative ways we make ourselves a little disoriented on his way. In the university district of Metz, we extend our reach for the first time then more detours we fortunately the GR 5th The first leads us up the Moselle and then zig-zag uphill, passing down to each church. We have beautiful views of Metz come at the birthplace of Robert Schumann, by one of the architects of European unification, or stroll through the vineyards - but somehow it does not voran.Schön it would be if we knew where we are. Mentally we are down because of the disorientation and pain, the feet. Ernst has probably hit particularly hard. At Ars sur Moselle
we are definitely flat, we sat down for a coffee and think at last after sometime. Our common requirement: without a guide not a step more
alternatives: a buy - can call and somehow forgot his copy Klaus
And so we hear back from Frodo and Klaus. We arrange to meet at his hotel in Vandi, 15 km still slack.
No bus, no train, no taxi, we are going to run again and good cheer. Unbelievable what the mental condition ausmacht.Nach about 5 kilometers to reach us fast Aney sur Moselle, from there to ride a train at 1 ½ hours.
OK, as long as the thumb holds Ernst raus.Seine effect on women is probably enormous. After a short time a woman holds in our age with Suzuki jeep and transported us towards Vandi. The lady is a bit mixed up, drives like the devil and we have multiple physical contact with the oncoming traffic. Made it - around 17:30 clock we arrived in Vandi, Frodo and Klaus already sitting there with a beer.
'll be fine. "
Greetings from the Sauerland
pilgrims Andreas

Dear Mr. Grimm,

with great interest I am following your pilgrimage to Santiago. My mother, Wilma Röttgen has told me of your trip in early July and since then I read the blog entries and follow up with tension, where you are and what you experience on their way with Frodo.

I'm with a friend two years ago (incidentally, at the same date as you) in Pamplona on the Camino francés started and made a pilgrimage in three weeks up to Leon. These three weeks have been very impressive for me in many ways. First, I found the landscape in Navarre and La Rioja to another fantastic and I was this pilgrimage again a bit more to myself out. to provide a time for myself having to take responsibility for myself was in a long time a new experience for me. But the daily encounters with other pilgrims were very influential.
After my return at that time I had reported my children about the experiences and encounters, among others, an eleven-year old German boy who walked the entire Camino francés with his father. Then my son decided to Paul (then seven years old) spontaneously, me in my left leg (2010 or 2011) to Santiago to escort
en.
To ever get a sense of pilgrims are, Paul, my friend and I made a pilgrimage in the period from March 2008 to July 2009 by Uedorf to Trier. Initially, there were daily stages of Bonn, the Rhine river, mercury, Bad Münstereifel Blankenheim to where we are again in the evening drove home. At the beginning of the summer holidays we are then the remaining piece of silver went home to register at a time. My "shell", that is my backpack on my back and also the pilgrims daily life (walk, shower, eat, wash, sleep) were very quickly familiar.
For Paul it was of course a very special experience, with nine years every day stages 20-29 miles to run, but he was very motivated and us "old" far superior stamina anyway. On 10 July we got our (now) last pilgrimage temple in Trier, and there is also the attached photo in front of the Cathedral Information originated.

Many of your descriptions and impressions immediately call up memories: the heat radiated from the asphalt and the skiing is almost unbearable, the organization out front revisions etc (must be how much bread I buy for the next few days where I can fill up your wallet?) .

I wish you and Frodo continue "Buen Camino", good pilgrims weather, your feet and paws to get healthy for St. James and above all God's blessings on your way. And I look forward to some nice punches in Spain!

Greetings from the foothills,

Manuela Röttgen

Six Year Old With Sore Legs

Conques - a metropolis of the Middle Ages

This morning was not a cloud in the sky and the two had breakfast extensively. Heading there was surprisingly a second breakfast on the way: coffee, tea and Biscuits were standing on a table free operation. A few chairs next to it and all there was for a small voluntary donation.
As in the past few days, the path led into the next valley and then back to the height. In the valleys become flowing rivers, which for Frodo are always a welcome refreshment at these temperatures. The elder
shines just as in the sun like the roofs of the houses that are in the area with thick slate covered.
old doors and thick walls set the tone in the villages.
The trail unfortunately again a little while on pavement until it steeply into the valley of Conques goes down. In bad weather is certainly a very difficult path through the forest. Thus, this hot and dry weather also advantages.
Conques was earlier an important stage of the pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostella. The monastery church and especially the tympanum are among the most beautiful works of art of the Middle Ages. It is a masterpiece of Romanesque sculpture and represents the Last Judgement, Christ sits in its center.
The place is now on 15 August, very well attended, although the number of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago strongly declined is.
Some were Klaus and Frodo all alone on the road.

Bottom Line: A quiet, romantic evening in Conques.
